This specific pistol was produced after Deutsche Werke took over production (note the manufacturer's name and address on the slide).
Deutsche Werke purchased the rights to the Ortgies pistol in 1921 and continued to produce the Ortgies until the late 1920's. The Ortgies pistol was designed and initially produced by Heinrich Ortgies. Ortgies & Company made only pistols chambered for 7.65mm Browning (.32 ACP), though it is clear that Heinrich Ortgies, from the beginning, also intended to produce pistols in.
